Deer Carcass Disposal Program – Did you know that land filling is the preferred method for disposal of deer carcasses? In coordination with the Department of Natural Resources efforts to curb the spread of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in the state’s deer herd, the Winnebago County Solid Waste Management Board (SWMB) has decided to assist local hunters in safely disposing their deer carcasses. The SWMB will continue their $0 deer carcass disposal program for Winnebago County residents who process their own deer. This is effective immediately, and will run through December 31, 2019. Carcasses must be dropped off at 100 W. County Road Y, Oshkosh, during operational hours, Monday-Friday 7a.m. – 3p.m. or Saturday 7 a.m. – noon. Participants should check in with the scale operator upon arrival. Winnebago County’s tarping ordinance applies.
