Since the early part of 2023, the town planning and zoning committee plus a few additional citizens – constituting the plan commission – began the process of updating the
2008-2027 Comprehensive Plan. The process began by contracting with Martenson & Eisele to help facilitate this effort (later in the process, the planner working with the town took another job and we were forced to find another firm to help with GIS mapping and assisting our commission toward finalizing the project). East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission took on this project and has done a very nice job coming in at the last moment and providing the necessary
expertise we required, and, doing it under budget.
Using the survey results from town residents, incorporating some of the long-range plans of the Black Wolf Sanitary District, and applying growth strategies that help maintain the rural nature of the town, the plan commission is nearing the end of the process. While the group has held an extraordinary number of monthly meetings that
were posted at the town posting locations, the next step is to hold a public hearing of the final draft plan. We will also be sharing our draft plan with other governmental bodies as required.
We anticipate the public hearing will occur on March 3rd before the regularly scheduled P&Z meeting. Hopefully, you will be able to attend. The comp plan will be on the town board’s monthly meeting on March 10th for final approval.
